It can take 6 months or longer after radiation therapy ends for the salivary glands to start producing saliva again. Wysliva Tablet helps to increase the secretions of body fluids, particularly saliva and this helps to improve dry mouth due to radiation therapy. Take it as prescribed by the doctor to get the most benefit.

Most side effects do not require any medical attention and disappear as your body adjusts to the medicine. Consult your doctor if they persist or if you’re worried about them

Take this medicine in the dose and duration as advised by your doctor. Swallow it as a whole. Do not chew, crush or break it. Wysliva Tablet may be taken with or without food, but it is better to take it at a fixed time.

Xylitol tastes sweet but, unlike sugar, it is not converted in the mouth to acids that cause tooth decay. It reduces levels of decay-causing bacteria in saliva and also acts against some bacteria that cause tooth infections.

Alcohol:
It is not known whether it is safe to consume alcohol with Wysliva Tablet. Please consult your doctor.

Pregnancy:
Wysliva Tablet is generally considered safe to use during pregnancy. Animal studies have shown low or no adverse effects to the developing baby; however, there are limited human studies.

Breastfeeding:
Information regarding the use of Wysliva Tablet during breastfeeding is not available. Please consult your doctor.

Driving:
It is not known whether Wysliva Tablet alters the ability to drive. Do not drive if you experience any symptoms that affect your ability to concentrate and react.

Kidney:
There is limited information available on the use of Wysliva Tablet in patients with kidney disease. Please consult your doctor.

Liver:
There is limited information available on the use of Wysliva Tablet in patients with liver disease. Please consult your doctor.

You have been prescribed Wysliva Tablet for the treatment of dry mouth.
Apart from using Wysliva Tablet, sip water or sugar-free drinks or suck ice chips throughout the day to moisten your mouth, and drink water during meals to aid chewing and swallowing.
You can also chew sugar-free gum or suck on sugar-free hard candies to stimulate the flow of saliva.
Breathe through your nose, not your mouth, and add moisture to the air at night with a room humidifier.
Limit your caffeine intake because caffeine can make your mouth drier.
Completely stop smoking or chewing tobacco.

If you miss a dose of Wysliva Tablet, take it as soon as possible. However, if it is almost time for your next dose, skip the missed dose and go back to your regular schedule. Do not double the dose.
