Common Side Effects :
Drowsiness
Orthostatic hypotension (sudden lowering of blood pressure on standing)

Take this medicine in the dose and duration as advised by your doctor. Do not handle the tablets with wet hands. Put it in your mouth but do not swallow it. Stemetil MD Tablet is to be taken with food.

Stemetil MD Tablet is a vestibular suppressant, i.e., it suppresses the vestibular apparatus in the inner ear by blocking the H1 receptor and stops vertigo. It acts within 30 minutes and, therefore, is effective during acute attacks. It also acts as a dopamine antagonist. Dopamine controls the region in the brain that causes nausea and vomiting, and this medicine blocks the action of dopamine. Therefore, Stemetil MD Tablet shows an anti-nauseating and antiemetic action. The mechanism of action by which prochlorperazine relieve headache and anxiety is probably related to it being serotonin (5HT3) receptor antagonist and dopamine (D2) receptor antagonist.

Alcohol:
Stemetil MD Tablet may cause excessive drowsiness with alcohol.

Pregnancy:

Breastfeeding:
Stemetil MD Tablet should be used with caution during breastfeeding. Breastfeeding should be held until the treatment of the mother is completed and the drug is eliminated from her body.However, occasional short-term use of Stemetil MD Tablet for the treatment of nausea and vomiting poses little risk to the breastfed infant.

Driving:
Stemetil MD Tablet may decrease alertness, affect your vision or make you feel sleepy and dizzy. Do not drive if these symptoms occur.

Kidney:
Stemetil MD Tablet should be used with caution in patients with kidney disease. Dose adjustment of Stemetil MD Tablet may be needed. Please consult your doctor.

Liver:
Stemetil MD Tablet should be used with caution in patients with liver disease. Dose adjustment of Stemetil MD Tablet may be needed. Please consult your doctor.

Stemetil MD Tablet is used for the prevention and treatment of nausea and vomiting.
It may also be used to treat dizziness associated with  problems of the inner ear such as Meniere’s Syndrome.
It may cause sleepiness. Don't drive or do anything requiring concentration until you know how it affects you.
To lower the chance of feeling dizzy or passing out, rise slowly if you have been sitting or lying down.
Avoid consuming alcohol when taking the Stemetil MD Tablet as it may cause excessive drowsiness. 
It makes you more likely to get heatstroke. Avoid heavy exercising and drink plenty of fluids.
It can cause your skin to be more sensitive to sunlight. Avoid exposure to direct sunlight while having this medicine.

If you miss a dose of Stemetil MD Tablet, take it as soon as possible. However, if it is almost time for your next dose, skip the missed dose and go back to your regular schedule. Do not double the dose.
