Sersam Fort 50mg/0.5mg Tablet is a combination of two medicines : Sertraline and Clonazepam. Sertraline is a selective serotonin reuptake inhibitor (SSRI) antidepressant. It works by increasing the levels of serotonin, a chemical messenger in the brain. This improves mood and physical symptoms of depression and also relieves symptoms of post traumatic stress disorder, obsessive-compulsive disorder, panic disorder, premenstrual dysphoric disorder and anxiety. Clonazepam is a benzodiazepine. It works by increasing the action of a chemical messenger (GABA) which suppresses the abnormal and excessive activity of the nerve cells in the brain.

You have been prescribed Sersam Fort 50mg/0.5mg Tablet in order to improve your mental health and manage your depression, anxiety, mood disorders.
You may feel that Sersam Fort 50mg/0.5mg Tablet is not helping you straightaway. This is because it can take few weeks before you feel the full benefit. It is important that you continue to take it.
Inform your doctor immediately if you get thoughts about harming yourself or ending your life.
Avoid taking antacids 2 hours before or after taking Sersam Fort 50mg/0.5mg Tablet as they make it harder for your body to absorb the medicine.
If you have diabetes, you will be asked to monitor your blood glucose level regularly as this medicine may affect the levels of sugar in your blood.
Try to keep your regular appointments with your doctor. This is so your doctor can check on your progress.

If you miss a dose of Sersam Fort 50mg/0.5mg Tablet, take it as soon as possible. However, if it is almost time for your next dose, skip the missed dose and go back to your regular schedule. Do not double the dose.
