This medicine is administered by a doctor or a nurse and should not be self-administered. The dose and duration of treatment will be determined by your doctor based on your condition. It is important to complete the full course of treatment, even if you start feeling better, to ensure the infection is fully cleared and does not return.

Most side effects do not require any medical attention and disappear as your body adjusts to the medicine. Consult your doctor if they persist or if you’re worried about them

Take this medicine in the dose and duration as advised by your doctor. Swallow it as a whole. Do not chew, crush or break it. Posatral Tablet is to be taken with food.

Posatral Tablet is an antifungal that works by inhibiting the enzyme essential for the synthesis of ergosterol, a key component of fungal cell membranes. It disrupts the production of ergosterol, damaging the fungal cell membrane, leading to cell death. This action makes it effective in preventing and treating invasive Aspergillus and Candida infections in immunocompromised patients, as well as treating oropharyngeal candidiasis, including cases resistant to other azoles like itraconazole or fluconazole.

Alcohol:
It is not known whether it is safe to consume alcohol with Posatral Tablet. Please consult your doctor.

Pregnancy:
Posatral Tablet may be unsafe to use during pregnancy. Although there are limited studies in humans, animal studies have shown harmful effects on the developing baby. Your doctor will weigh the benefits and any potential risks before prescribing it to you. Please consult your doctor.

Breastfeeding:
Posatral Tablet is probably unsafe to use during breastfeeding. Limited human data suggests that the drug may pass into the breastmilk and harm the baby.

Driving:
Posatral Tablet may cause side effects which could affect your ability to drive.As you may feel dizzy, sleepy, or have blurred vision while taking Posatral Tablet, which may affect your ability to drive.

Kidney:
Posatral Tablet should be used with caution in patients with kidney disease. Dose adjustment of Posatral Tablet may be needed. Please consult your doctor.Regular monitoring of kidney function tests is advised while taking this medicine. Use of Posatral Tablet is not recommended in patients with moderate to severe kidney disease.

Liver:
Posatral Tablet is probably safe to use in patients with liver disease. Limited data available suggests that dose adjustment of Posatral Tablet may not be needed in these patients. Please consult your doctor.

Do not skip any doses and finish the full course of treatment even if you feel better.
Take Posatral Tablet with food to enhance the absorption, preferably at the same time every day.
Do not take indigestion remedies (antacids) within two hours of taking Posatral Tablet.
Your doctor may check your liver function before starting treatment and regularly thereafter.
Inform your doctor if you are pregnant, planning pregnancy, or breastfeeding.

If you miss a dose of Posatral Tablet, take it as soon as possible. However, if it is almost time for your next dose, skip the missed dose and go back to your regular schedule. Do not double the dose.
