Ocufine Injection is a similar to somatostatin, a substance normally found in the human body which inhibits the effects of certain hormones such as growth hormone. It also lowers the bleeding from the food pipe by constricting (narrowing) the blood vessels.

Alcohol:
It is not known whether it is safe to consume alcohol with Ocufine Injection. Please consult your doctor.

Pregnancy:
Ocufine Injection is generally considered safe to use during pregnancy. Animal studies have shown low or no adverse effects to the developing baby; however, there are limited human studies.

Breastfeeding:
Ocufine Injection is probably safe to use during breastfeeding. Limited human data suggests that the drug does not represent any significant risk to the baby.

Driving:
Ocufine Injection does not usually affect your ability to drive.

Kidney:
Ocufine Injection is safe to use in patients with kidney disease. No dose adjustment of Ocufine Injection is recommended.

Liver:
Ocufine Injection should be used with caution in patients with liver disease. Dose adjustment of Ocufine Injection may be needed. Please consult your doctor.

It is given as an injection under the skin or into a vein.
It may temporarily cause pain at the site of injection. You can relieve this by gently rubbing the site of injection for a few seconds afterwards. 
When used long term, your doctor may monitor your thyroid function, gallbladder function, liver function and vitamin b12 levels regularly.
Inform your doctor if you are taking medicines to control your blood pressure or if you are diabetic.
Women who do not wish to conceive should practice an effective method for contraception while taking this medication.

If you miss a dose of Ocufine Injection, take it as soon as possible. However, if it is almost time for your next dose, skip the missed dose and go back to your regular schedule. Do not double the dose.\n
