In Treatment of Hypertension (high blood pressure)Nitrovil Injection is used to treat hypertension in hypertensive emergencies. It rapidly dilates (widens) the blood vessels. This rapid vasodilation helps reduce blood pressure levels, relieving the strain on the heart and improving blood flow to vital organs. It is typically used in critical situations where immediate blood pressure reduction is necessary, such as severe high blood pressure that can lead to organ damage or other life-threatening complications.

Most side effects do not require any medical attention and disappear as your body adjusts to the medicine. Consult your doctor if they persist or if you’re worried about them

Common Side Effects :
Blurred vision
Decreased blood pressure
Dizziness
Headache
Increased heart rate
Lightheadedness
Paresthesia (tingling or pricking sensation)

Nitrovil Injection is a nitrate. It works by improving blood supply to heart and relaxing the blood vessels which decreases the oxygen demand of the heart and reduces its workload, thereby preventing/treating attacks of angina (chest pain). Relaxation of blood vessels lowers blood pressure.

Alcohol:
Consuming alcohol while taking Nitrovil Injection may cause symptoms such as flushing, increased heart beat, nausea, thirst, chest pain and low blood pressure (Disulfiram reaction).

Pregnancy:
Nitrovil Injection is generally considered safe to use during pregnancy. Animal studies have shown low or no adverse effects to the developing baby; however, there are limited human studies.

Breastfeeding:
Nitrovil Injection is probably safe to use during breastfeeding. Limited human data suggests that the drug does not represent any significant risk to the baby.

Driving:
Nitrovil Injection may decrease alertness, affect your vision or make you feel sleepy and dizzy. Do not drive if these symptoms occur.

Kidney:
Nitrovil Injection is probably safe to use in patients with kidney disease. Limited data available suggests that dose adjustment of Nitrovil Injection may not be needed in these patients. Please consult your doctor.

Liver:
There is limited information available on the use of Nitrovil Injection in patients with liver disease. Please consult your doctor.

It is given via a drip into a vein under the supervision of a doctor.
It may cause headaches which usually go away after a few days of continued treatment. Inform your doctor if it persists.
Nitrovil Injection may cause dizziness or sleepiness. Do not drive or do anything that requires concentration until you know how it affects you.
Do not consume alcohol while taking Nitrovil Injection as it may cause increased dizziness.
Stop taking medications (prescribed for erectile dysfunction) like sildenafil or tadalafil while on treatment with Nitrovil Injection as it may cause low blood pressure.
You have been prescribed Nitrovil Injection for the prevention and treatment of heart-related chest pain (angina).
Eat healthy (low-fat, high-fiber, low-sodium diet), quit smoking, increase your physical activity, watch your weight and reduce stress.
Nitrovil Injection may cause dizziness or sleepiness. Do not drive or do anything that requires concentration until you know how it affects you.
Do not consume alcohol while taking Nitrovil Injection as it may cause increased dizziness.
It may cause headaches which usually go away after a few days of continued treatment. Inform your doctor if it persists.
You may develop tolerance to Nitrovil Injection with time, meaning that the same dose may be less effective next time. Follow the prescribed dosing schedule to avoid this.
