Take this medicine in the dose and duration as advised by your doctor. Swallow it as a whole. Do not chew, crush or break it. Feretate Tablet may be taken with or without food, but it is better to take it at a fixed time.

Feretate Tablet is a combination of two medicines: Sodium Feredetate and Folic Acid. Sodium Feredetate works by replenishing the iron stores in your body. Iron is vital for formation of new red blood cells and hemoglobin, a substance that gives these cells the ability to transport oxygen. Folic Acid is a form of vitamin B. It plays a vital role in the formation of red blood cells, which carry oxygen throughout the body. It also contains vitamin B12, that restores its level in the body thereby helping in treating certain anemias and nerve problems.

Alcohol:
It is not known whether it is safe to consume alcohol with Feretate Tablet. Please consult your doctor.

Pregnancy:

Breastfeeding:
Feretate Tablet is safe to use during breastfeeding. Human studies suggest that the drug does not pass into the breastmilk in a significant amount and is not harmful to the baby.

Driving:
It is not known whether Feretate Tablet alters the ability to drive. Do not drive if you experience any symptoms that affect your ability to concentrate and react.

Kidney:

Feretate Tablet is given to treat anemia due to iron deficiency.
Let your doctor know if you are taking any antibiotics.
Iron supplements can make your stools look darker in color. This is completely harmless.
Feretate Tablet might cause mild constipation, try to eat a well-balanced diet and drink several glasses of water each day.

If you miss a dose of Feretate Tablet, take it as soon as possible. However, if it is almost time for your next dose, skip the missed dose and go back to your regular schedule. Do not double the dose.
