In Treatment of Bacterial infectionsDuonem CV Tablet works by killing bacteria which can cause serious infections. It is used to treat many different types of bacterial infections such as infections of lungs (pneumonia) and urinary tract. Duonem CV Tablet usually makes you feel better very quickly but you should continue taking it as prescribed even when you feel better to make sure that all bacteria are killed and do not become resistant.

Most side effects do not require any medical attention and disappear as your body adjusts to the medicine. Consult your doctor if they persist or if you’re worried about them

Take this medicine in the dose and duration as advised by your doctor. Swallow it as a whole. Do not chew, crush or break it. Duonem CV Tablet may be taken with or without food, but it is better to take it at a fixed time.

Duonem CV Tablet is a combination of two medicines: Faropenem and Clavulanic Acid. Faropenem is an antibiotic. It kills bacteria by preventing them from forming the bacterial protective covering (cell wall) which is needed for them to survive. Clavulanic Acid is a beta-lactamase inhibitor which reduces resistance and enhances the activity of Faropenem against bacteria.

Alcohol:
It is not known whether it is safe to consume alcohol with Duonem CV Tablet. Please consult your doctor.

Pregnancy:

Breastfeeding:

Driving:
Duonem CV Tablet may decrease alertness, affect your vision or make you feel sleepy and dizzy. Do not drive if these symptoms occur.

Kidney:
There is limited information available on the use of Duonem CV Tablet in patients with kidney disease. Please consult your doctor.

Liver:
There is limited information available on the use of Duonem CV Tablet in patients with liver disease. Please consult your doctor.

Stick to simple meals, avoid rich or spicy food and drink plenty of water while taking Duonem CV Tablet.
Try to drink plenty of water while you are taking Duonem CV Tablet.
Do not take antacids 2 hours before or after taking Duonem CV Tablet.
Diarrhea may occur as a side effect but should stop when your course is complete. Inform your doctor if it doesn't stop or if you find blood in your stools.
If you are taking any contraceptive 'pill' at the same time as this antibiotic, the effectiveness of the 'pill' can be reduced if you vomit (which lasts for more than 24 hours). In such a case, ask your doctor for additional contraceptive measures.

If you miss a dose of Duonem CV Tablet, take it as soon as possible. However, if it is almost time for your next dose, skip the missed dose and go back to your regular schedule. Do not double the dose.
