How It Works
Borosulfa Eye/Ear Drop contains antiseptic and astringent ingredients.Sulphacetamide exerts inhibitory effects on the dihydropteroate synthase pathway that catalyzes the production of foliate, a necessary component to synthesize DNA, RNA and cell division thus implements the bacteriostatic effect on the growth of invading bacteria. Chlorpheniramine Maleate blocks the Histamine receptors that mediates the allergic responses, and stimulates vasodilation, vascular permeability and itching or pain in the eyes. Hydroxy-propyl-methyl-cellulose (HPMC) acts to swell and absorb water, thereby expanding the thickness of the tear-film therefore resulting in extended time presence of the constituents in Borosulfa Eye/Ear Drop on the cornea. Sodium chloride maintains the tonicity of the ophthalmic solution for better toleration. Boric acid works as an antiseptic, against bacterial and fungal infections; irrigates the eyes, and also acts as an emulsifier. It helps to clear the eyes from pollutants such as dust, loose foreign material, air pollutants or chlorinated water and other chemicals, and provides soothing relief from eye irritation. Zinc sulfate zinc inhibits the mucus secretion from the ocular surface and also exhibits astringent and antiseptic properties.
