How To Use
To ensure accurate dosing of the medicine, two syringes (3 ml and 10 ml) are provided. Use the 3 ml syringe for doses up to 3 ml, where each 0.1 ml delivers 10 mg of the medicine. For doses above 3 ml, use the 10 ml syringe, with each 0.5 ml equal to 50 mg. After taking the dose, drinking water is recommended to help ensure proper delivery of the medicine to the stomach. Anemiax S 100 Oral Suspension Strawberry may be taken with or without food, but it is better to take it at a fixed time.
How It Works
In cancer, hydroxyurea inhibits the enzyme ribonucleotide reductase, which plays a critical role in the synthesis of DNA by converting ribonucleotides into deoxyribonucleotides. This inhibition disrupts DNA synthesis, particularly in rapidly dividing cancer cells, resulting in cell cycle arrest and reduced tumor proliferation. In sickle cell disease, hydroxyurea increases the production of fetal hemoglobin (HbF) in red blood cells. Higher levels of HbF reduce the formation of sickled cells, improve red blood cell flexibility, enhance blood flow, and decrease the frequency of painful vaso-occlusive episodes and related complications.
